basically Officeconvert is an elaborate, gui-less wrapper around the
underlying MS Office libraries. In other words: it does nothing itself
conversion-wise. On the machine we use it on for Officeshots, we run
multiple copies of Office - 2007 SP2 and 2010 next to each other (and
we can with parameters provide in/output with both the native export
and the open source add-in). For that to work on the same machine we
had to recompile to different hard coded versions of the library.

I'm not sure if .net handles libraries gracefully, but if you have
only MS Office 2013 on it and OfficeConvert works - I'd assume that it
does. It is easy to check, though - use it, and compare the result to
an output document you create by importing the same document and then
save it through MS Office 2013.

If it works for you as is, that is great. If not, the update last time
was done by Dirk Vollmar from the German company Dialogika. Basically
there are links to explicit versions of the old libraries that need to
be updated to the new versions of the libraries - and then it needs to
be compiled with MS Visual Studio. If you compare the two versions we
have in subversion, that should be easy to do. Please let us know.

We should provide some better documentation on it as well, as it is a
very useful tool. For instance on OpenDocumentFormat.org. If there are
volunteers to help out, let me know.

Best,
Michiel
