Not until today, as I had not understood the matter was urgent,
otherwise I might have done things quicker.

Yes, although there was only one nomination, and the full process was
not taking place on any list I am subscribed to.

No, it is because the process was 1) not documented enough (nominations?
ballot? wiki to nominate people? deadline? it's all right not to have
all this, but then surprizes may happen) 2) not clear to me, and I'm
obviously partially to blame given the general schedule.

I would not call that wasting cycles but rather making sure every
stakeholder is represented and the details well crafted out. Anything
non-transparent ultimately hurts the confidence in the ODF ecosystem.
