[ODFPlugtest] ANNOUNCE: IRC channel #odfplugfest on freenode

It is not an either/or thing. IRC is a simple way to check and chat. See if
anyone is around, shoot a question, linger around.
But in my 20+ years of coding and communicating, IRC has somehow always
remained useful.
Hence the channel. Feel free to ignore it :-)

I think the problem with IRC in this case is that participation requires
synchronicity of presence. Across a wide range of time zones, this does not
work very well except for those who are temporally nearby.
So there is a tendency to have a time-centric selection of participation
(and I suspect, in this case, it is in the vicinity of CET).
I trust that the mailing list will remain useful for anything not quite so
ephemeral.

All,
at the ODF Plugfest in Berlin last week I created an IRC channel called
#ODFplugfest so the people in the room could communicate.
The channel is now persistent in freenode.
So IMHO we should all use this IRC channel and create effectively on
always-on plugfest where those that are implementing and working with
ODF can discuss interop stuff.
You can simply vote with your feet by joining or ignoring this channel ;-)
Should enough people use this, we can and should put it on the wiki/eb
pages too.
